Suction Machine Model Comparison

Use the comparison tables and scenario analysis below to understand specification differences between suction machine models. We compare across suction power, flow rate, battery, weight, noise and accessory requirements.

How We Compare

We compare based on six key indicators that directly impact real-world performance:

Max Vacuum (kPa)

Determines how strong the suction force is. Higher values mean stronger suction. -75 kPa is sufficient for home use; professional settings need -80 kPa or above.

Flow Rate (L/min)

Volume of air moved per minute. Low flow (16 L/min) suits normal secretions. High flow (36-90 L/min) handles large or thick secretion volumes.

Battery Life (min)

Runtime on a full charge. Ranges from 30 to 80 minutes. Critical for outdoor use or power outage backup.

Weight (kg)

Affects portability. Ranges from 1.72 kg (VACUAIDE) to 20 kg (HOSPIVAC). Consider how often the caregiver needs to move the machine.

Noise (dB)

Noise control matters for extended use. Ranges from 46 dB (HOSPIVAC) to 65 dB (ASKIR 36 BR). Choose quieter models for bedroom use.

Duty Cycle

Some models have interval limits (30 min ON / 30 min OFF). High-flow models typically support continuous operation on mains power.

Scenario Recommendations

Find the best model based on your specific use case:

"I'm a caregiver looking after elderly at home"

Choose a lightweight, easy-to-operate model with readily available accessories.

Recommended:VACUAIDE 7325P (lightest) or ATMOS LC27 (German quality)
"I need it at home and in the car"

Choose a model supporting AC + battery + 12V car power.

Recommended:ASKIR 230/12VBR (triple power mode)
"Shared in clinic/care home, hygiene is priority"

Choose contactless operation, high flow, Flovac disposable system compatible.

Recommended:ASKIR 30 PROXIMITY (contactless + 40 L/min)
"Need a reliable unit for ambulance/crash cart"

Choose fast battery start, wide environmental tolerance, rugged build.

Recommended:ACCUVAC Rescue (-18°C to +50°C)
"OR/institution needs high-flow continuous operation"

Choose 90 L/min, 24-hour operation, dual-jar switchover.

Recommended:NEW HOSPIVAC (highest flow, continuous)
"Need a backup for power outages"

Manual pump needs no power, single-hand operation. Cannot replace daily powered use.

Recommended:Manual Suction Pump (backup + powered machine for daily use)

Comparison FAQ

Is higher flow rate always better?

Not necessarily. Flow rate measures air movement speed, not suction strength. Home users may find high-flow models uncomfortable due to excessive airflow. Choose based on actual needs: 16-27 L/min for normal secretions, 36+ L/min for large or thick volumes.

What's the difference between max vacuum and flow rate?

Max vacuum (kPa/mmHg) measures how strong the vacuum force is — think of it as 'suction strength'. Flow rate (L/min) measures how much air moves per minute — think of it as 'speed'. A 'high vacuum / low flow' machine (like ASKIR 230) has adequate suction but moves air more slowly.

Can battery models run on mains power without battery?

Most rechargeable models support simultaneous mains operation and charging. ASKIR 230 and ASKIR 36 BR can run continuously on mains power (no duty cycle limit) while charging. However, the LC27 has interval mode limitations (30 min ON / 30 min OFF) even on mains power.

Which model is the quietest?

NEW HOSPIVAC (46.4 dB) > ATMOS C341 (<60 dB) > ASKIR 30 PROXIMITY (60.5 dB) > ASKIR 230 (63 dB) > ASKIR 36 BR (65.5 dB). For bedroom use, choose a quieter model.
