How Often Should You Change Filters?

Filters are the most important consumable for suction machines. Understand each brand's replacement requirements and plan your schedule.

Two Types of Filters

Bacterial Filter

Function: Blocks bacteria and viruses from entering the machine.

Replace when: Between different users (mandatory), every 2 months (whichever comes first), when discoloured or clogged.

Note: Cannot be washed and reused.

Hydrophobic Filter

Function: Prevents liquid from entering the pump (last line of defence).

Replace when: Immediately after getting wet, after overflow, when suction drops suddenly.

Note: Cannot be blow-dried, washed, or substituted with other materials.

Create Your Replacement Plan

Set a regular replacement schedule rather than waiting for problems:

  • Monthly: Visually inspect all filters
  • Every 2 months: Replace bacterial filter (even if it looks fine)
  • After every overflow: Replace all filters immediately
  • When changing users: Replace the bacterial filter

FAQ

I rarely use the machine — do I still need regular replacement?

Yes. Even with low usage, inspect every 2 months. Before resuming use after a long period, replace filters as a precaution.

Where can I buy the correct filters?

Contact us with your machine model and we'll match the correct filter. We do not recommend using non-genuine or unverified compatible alternatives.

What if I've run out and can't get replacements immediately?

Do not use the suction machine without a filter. Contact us to check stock — we make every effort to keep common filters available.
